Cuyahoga County Recognizes Emergency Management Professionals on Emergency Management Recognition Day

Emergency Managers play an important role in public safety by planning for and leading response to all types of emergencies. From natural disasters to security threats, and public health crisis, these highly trained professionals develop educational materials and opportunities, conduct outreach efforts, collaborate with first responders, and remain ready at a moment’s notice to deploy in the event of a critical incident.

 

“Emergency Management professionals are the steadfast presence behind community safety, coordinating resources, directing response, and ensuring that recovery efforts are swift when disaster strikes,” said Brandy Carney, Cuyahoga County Director of Public Safety and Justice Services. “Their commitment protects lives, strengthens community knowledge and resilience, and builds trust in public safety systems.”

 

Throughout the month of August, Cuyahoga County is encouraging residents to stay ready for emergencies by:

 

  • Signing up for emergency notifications through Ready Notify
  • Creating a family plan and practicing preparedness
  • Learning about local disasters and emergencies
