Cuyahoga County Launches New Tech Tools to Better Serve Residents and Enhance Workforce Innovation
CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OH – Cuyahoga County has implemented new technology to enhance how residents access County services and information. The new applications aim to create a streamlined web experience through a chat feature designed to assist with tax questions and resources, and a new accessibility tool now live on all County webpages. In addition, County workers will now have access to smart technology to help them more efficiently serve residents and improve work processes.
“Progress in technology is progress for our residents and communities,” said Andy Johnson, County IT Chief Information Officer. “Smarter tools allow us to provide residents with resources and information more quickly and efficiently, while meeting people where they are and making the most out of every tax dollar.”
The Cuyahoga County Treasurer’s Office has launched CountyConnect, a new virtual assistant that allows residents to ask questions directly through an easy-to-use chat box. CountyConnect, which can communicate in over 70 languages, provides residents and property owners with answers to the most asked property tax questions. The County has future plans to implement CountyConnect across all webpages.
“As Treasurer, it is my goal to provide the best, most up-to-date services to our residents, and CountyConnect is a great tool that optimizes our ability to provide taxpayers with fast, accurate information,” said Cuyahoga County Treasurer Brad Cromes. “By providing instant feedback, CountyConnect reduces the need for phone support, and saves residents from waiting on hold.”
The County has also implemented a new Accessibility Tool, which allows users to tailor their website browsing experience to their needs and preferences. Resources include assistive reading technology, dyslexia-friendly formatting, and tools that support individuals with vision, motor, or cognitive needs. The program can communicate in 67 languages and is available 24/7.
Cuyahoga County has implemented the use of Microsoft Copilot to empower County employees with smarter tools that enhance efficiency and expedite services to residents. By optimizing resources that reduce routine, repetitive tasks, staff can improve customer service and spend more time problem solving and improving services to the community.
