Cuyahoga County Clerk of Courts Reminds Residents of the Availability of Online Bond Posting Service

CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OH – The Cuyahoga County Clerk of Courts is reminding residents about the availability of Online Bond Posting. This service helps individuals detained at the Cuyahoga County Corrections Center return to their families, homes, and jobs more quickly and efficiently.

"It is our hope that more people will utilize the Online Bond Posting service to facilitate posting bonds for their loved ones,” said Nailah K. Byrd, Cuyahoga County Clerk of Courts. "As winter weather ensues and travel conditions present greater hardships including time and costs, posting bonds online reduces the need for folks to travel downtown."

The Online Bond Posting service was implemented in 2022 in an effort to reduce both the detention time and the number of individuals held at the Corrections Center. Since the introduction of the Online Bond Posting system, over 1,700 bonds have been posted online. The Online Bond Posting service provides a convenient and expeditious way for individuals to post bond year-round. This service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days of the week to both individuals and bond posting agencies.

Bonds for felony cases within the Cuyahoga Court of Common Pleas can be posted on Cuyahoga County’s Clerk of Courts website using a credit or debit card. A 3% processing/convenience fee for both in-person and online bond posting is charged by the credit card vendor. Once a bond is paid, a notification is sent to the Corrections Center Release desk and the individual’s release is processed.
