Back to School Challenge: Cuyahoga County Launches School Supply Drive
Backpacks and Resources to Be Distributed During Family Fun Day at Public Square
Cuyahoga County, OH - Cuyahoga County is partnering with community organizations to collect school supplies for students through the Back to School Challenge. The campaign encourages residents, businesses, and local groups to donate classroom essentials to help students across the county be ready for the upcoming school year.
Requested supplies include:
- backpacks,
- colored pencils, box of 12
- crayons, box of 24
- glue bottle/stick
- highlighters
- markers
- pencils
- pens
- scissors
- rulers
- erasers
- sanitizer
Donation Drop Off:
Wednesday, July 29, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Old Brooklyn Neighborhood Family Service Center
4261 Fulton Parkway, Cleveland
Schedule a donation pickup by emailing DCFSOutreach@jfs.ohio.gov.
Online Donations - To make giving easier, the County has created Amazon and Target wish lists that will allow donations to be shipped directly to the collection site.
Volunteers are needed to help sort and pack supplies. Individuals or groups can sign up online at: Sign Up Genius.
A portion of the collected supplies will be given to local families during the 2026 Cuyahoga County Family Fun Day, a free community event that promotes Child Support Awareness Month. The event will have fun activities like games, face painting, music, entertainment, and resources from more than 70 County and community agencies.

Location: Public Square, on the Green
Please Note: Backpacks and school supplies will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. The child receiving the backpack and supplies must be present at the event.
