Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Department Reports Successful County Fair Operation

Posted on

CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OH – This year, for the first time, the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Department assumed full responsibility for safety and security operations at the Cuyahoga County Fair.

Members of the department worked closely with the Cuyahoga County Fair Board to plan and execute comprehensive safety and security measures. Deputies were deployed throughout the fairgrounds from opening through closing, and the department is pleased to report that there were no disruptions or serious incidents.

Deputies issued no citations and made only one arrest during the fair, a testament to the extensive planning and coordination that went into the operation. Deputies also made numerous positive contacts with fairgoers and reunited 24 children who had become separated from their families.

“I am incredibly proud of the men and women of the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Department and the work they do every day to help ensure the safety and security of our residents,” said Cuyahoga County Sheriff Harold A. Pretel. “This deployment is another example of their professionalism, preparation, and commitment to the community. I also want to thank the Fair Board and our partners for working closely with us to make this year’s fair a safe and successful event.”

Thank you to the Cuyahoga County Fair Board, the deputies and staff who worked throughout the fair, and to all of the partners that helped support the operation. The Sheriff’s Department also thanks fairgoers for their cooperation and for helping make this year’s Cuyahoga County Fair a safe, successful event.
