Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter offers free microchips to permanently identify your dog

CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OH – The Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter (CCAS) is offering a free microchipping clinic this Sunday, October 4 from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. at Tri-C Western Campus. The clinic is open to all dog-owning residents of Cuyahoga County and operates first come, first served, rain or shine.

“No one wants to imagine their dog getting lost, but preparation matters,” said Jen Huettich, Manager of External Affairs. “Having your dog microchipped and wearing their current year license is the fastest way to be reunited if your dog becomes missing and ends up in a shelter.”

All dogs microchipped at the event will be registered into the national microchip database. With an ever-increasing influx of dogs into shelters. CCAS aims to bring awareness to the benefits of microchipping and getting dogs licensed.

The Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter is open to the public Tuesday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m.to 4 p.m. and Sunday from Noon to 4 p.m.
