There are hundreds of bridges in Cuyahoga County, and many of us drive over them to get to work, run errands, or visit friends and family without a thought. That’s because we rely on the Cuyahoga County Public Works Bridge Inspection Team to conduct frequent inspections to make sure County bridges are safe to drive on.

Did you know?

• Federal regulations require bridges to be inspected every other year—but Ohio takes it a step further by requiring inspections every year.
• Bridge inspectors look for critical deterioration in the bridge, often tiny stress cracks in the steel that could develop into larger issues.
• If deterioration is detected, the bridge inspection team will report these findings and make recommendations about necessary repairs.
