Top Things To Do When Avoiding Large Gatherings

Information from the Ohio Department of Health

On March 16, Ohio Department of Health Director Amy Acton, M.D., MPH, issued an order which prohibited mass gatherings in the State of Ohio to prevent the spread of COVID-19. This defines mass gatherings as an event that brings together 50 or more people in a single room or space at the same time.

Additionally, President Donald Trump encouraged Americans to avoid gatherings of 10 or more.

The Ohio order does not include common spaces like office environments or grocery stores. How can you protect yourself and your loved ones when in public?

  • Maintain social distancing whenever possible.
  • Stay about six feet away from other people.
  • Wash your hands frequently, use hand sanitizer and cover coughs with a tissue or the crook of your elbow.
