Crime Stoppers of Cuyahoga County

How It Works

Why It’s Working

Cuyahoga County’s “Crime Stoppers” Facebook page was launched in January of 2016.  Since its launch, more than 4,600 people have opted in to follow us which has led to increased exposure, resulting in more leads from tipsters.  From 2016 to 2017, tips from “Crime Stoppers” efforts have increased 46% and visits to our 25 Crime website have more than doubled.

Since 2010, tips to Crime Stoppers have resulted in 86 homicide arrests, 90 sex offense arrests, and more than 160 armed robbery arrests.

Although Crime Stoppers offers a reward approximately 40% of the tipsters choose not to claim it. Anonymity is maintained throughout the process; law enforcement is not aware of the identity of the tipsters. This offers a safe, effective means to reach law enforcement, and leads to a safer Cuyahoga County.
