Deadline to File Second Half 2020 Property Taxes is July 15, 2021
The Cuyahoga County Treasury has mailed property tax bills to over 300,000 county residents.
The funds collected from property taxes provide vital revenue to educate our local youth, to provide police and fire protection, maintain our great libraries, and support county services such as job creation and attraction. The last day to pay 2020 Second Half Property Taxes without penalty is Thursday, July 15, 2021.
The Cuyahoga County Treasury Department encourages taxpayers to utilize any of the following payment methods:
- By Mail: Mail your check or money order and the bottom portion of your tax bill
- Online: Pay by e-check or credit/debit card
- By Phone: Call 1-800-272-9829 to pay by credit/debit card, for Spanish speaking: 1-800-487-4567
- Drop Box: Located at the County Administrative Headquarters, 2079 East Ninth St., Cleveland, OH, for check or money order payments (Right-hand side of main entrance on the exterior of the building).
- All Key Bank branches located in Cuyahoga County. Key Bank branches require taxpayers to provide the original tax bill and to make payments in full. The last day for this service will be July 8, 2021.
- Auto Title branches (not BMV):
- Bedford Auto Title: 22121 Rockside Rd., Bedford, OH 44146
- Mayfield Heights Auto Title: 1585 Golden Gate Plaza, Mayfield Hts., OH 44124
- Parma Auto Title: 12100 Snow Road, Suite #15, Parma, OH 44130
- North Olmsted Auto Title: 27029 Brookpark Rd. Extension, North Olmsted, OH 44070
Taxpayers can still pay by cash, check, money order, credit and debit card in the Cashier Department located on the first floor of the County Administrative Headquarters. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. On the final collection date, July 15, office hours are extended to 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. There are a few key items to know before paying in-person:
- Visitors will be screened prior to entering
- Face masks are required
- Visitors will be asked to maintain 6’ social distance
- There will be limited occupancy in the building
Taxpayers who are experiencing difficulties with making a payment should contact the County Treasurer at 216-443-7400 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, or email treascomment@cuyahogacounty.us. Taxpayers who are unable to pay their current taxes will be assessed a 10 percent penalty on any remaining balance. Please contact the County Treasurer after July 15 to discuss payment plan options.
Other services are also available to taxpayers, including the Easy Pay program, which allows advance payments for current taxes on a monthly, semi–annual, or annual basis. Taxpayers should refer to the Cuyahoga County Treasurer website for further details.
