Healthy Cuyahoga
Executive Ronayne is committed to fostering a community where
health, wellness, and safety take center stage, creating a thriving environment
for all. His initiatives include:
Women’s Health Commission
The council will advise the Ronayne Administration on all matters regarding women’s health, including reproductive and maternal healthcare. The council will comprise 13 people, 9 of whom have lived experience or work in the medical and legal fields.
Child Wellness Campus
Cuyahoga County wants to ensure our children have a safe place to receive services. In partnership with the Centers, we’re developing the Cuyahoga County Child Wellness Campus to provide shelter and treatment for youth who need intense care for medical, mental health, behavioral health and trauma related issues.
Fresh Water Institute
The plan is to embrace Lake Erie and the Cuyahoga River as economic engines by restoring and preserving the water sources and developing the surrounding land to attract new industries to Cuyahoga County.
Neighborhood Service Centers
The Ronayne Administration brought the government to the people with the launch of our neighborhood service centers. Cuyahoga County’s Division of Job and Family Services staff have been placed at four nonprofit locations: Greater Cleveland Food Bank, Cuyahoga County Public Library – Garfield Heights Branch, Esperanza, Inc., and the Friendly Inn Settlement, Inc. Residents can apply for or renew benefits programs or inquire about the status of their cases.
Welcoming Community
Cuyahoga County is home to more than 120 nationalities. We are opening a Welcome Center in February 2024 to support immigrants, refugees, and newcomers to the region. The center will provide resources for housing, workforce training, educational services, legal support, public benefits access, and language services. The Welcoming Center is a major step toward becoming Certified Welcoming community through Welcoming America.
