CLEVELAND, OH –

The Cuyahoga County Scam Squad will host its popular Scamo game during opening day at the Cuyahoga County Fair. All fair-goers are invited to attend.

Scamo is a fun, bingo-style game that helps players learn about scams in a relaxed setting. Join the Cuyahoga County Department of Consumer Affairs and its Scam Squad partners for this unique event to learn how to spot and avoid scams.

Scamo games will be held at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Aug. 6 in the Fairground’s Olde Barn Pavilion. The Fairgrounds are located at 19201 East Bagley Road, Middleburg Heights.

Scamo Bingo is free with Fair admission, and all materials will be provided. Seating is first come, first served. Fair goers are also welcome to stop by the Scam Squad table to learn more about how to protect themselves and their loved ones from scams.

Scamo was created with a grant from the Sears Consumer Protection and Education Fund. Cuyahoga County Scam Squad members include local police departments, nonprofits and social service agencies, the Cleveland Department of Aging, the Cuyahoga County Division of Senior and Adult Services, the Better Business Bureau, the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, and Cleveland-based offices of the FBI, Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission.
