Department of Public Works Seeks Public Input for Lee Road (CR 8) Bridge Project
Deadline for public comment is December 2, 2024
CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OH—The Cuyahoga County Department of Public Works, the City of Maple Heights, and the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) invite the public to provide comments regarding the rehabilitation of a bridge on Lee Road.
Lee Road Bridge 00.77 over Mill Creek (SFN 1833987) is located approximately 235-feet south of Interstate 480 (I-480). The proposed project includes a total replacement of the superstructure along the same alignment on Lee Road and a rehabilitation of the substructure. The project will include a thicker reinforced concrete deck on semi-integral abutments.
The project will require temporary right-of-way. The road will be completely closed to traffic during construction to allow for a monolithic pour of the concrete deck. Detours will be in place utilizing a 4.2-mile route. The proposed detour is Lee Rd (CR 8) to Libby Rd (SR 17) to Broadway Ave (SR 14) to McCracken Rd (CR 55) to Lee Rd (CR 8).
The project will have minor impacts on Mill Creek. Construction is expected to begin in winter 2025 and will last approximately 1 year.
Questions and comments must be submitted by Monday, December 2, 2024, and may include the effect of the project on residents, air quality, local economy, floodplains, and historic or cultural resources.
