Cuyahoga County Council Elects District 2 Councilman Dale Miller as President, District 7 Councilwoman Yvonne M. Conwell as Vice President

CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OH—Cuyahoga County Council met today for their Organizational Meeting and elected District 2 Councilman Dale Miller as the next President of Council, and District 7 Councilwoman Yvonne M. Conwell as Vice President, both for a two-year term.
Council President Miller has held various elected positions, including as a Cleveland City Councilman, State Representative and State Senator. He has served on County Council since its inception, and was the primary sponsor of legislation that established the rules under which the Council operates and the process for reviewing contracts.
Vice President Conwell has dedicated her career to serving children and families and works diligently for stronger health and human services. She was the primary sponsor of the first Equity Plan for Cuyahoga County, which serves as the foundation in which the County’s Department of Equity and Inclusion was established. She has served on County Council since its inception.
The Council also voted to adopt its schedule for 2025 and 2026. The regular council meeting schedule can be found here.
Per the Cuyahoga County Chater, election of the President and Vice President occurs every two years. The Council President presides over every regular council meeting.
