Cuyahoga County, Ohio – The Cuyahoga County Council Districting Commission will hold two public hearings on Wednesday, Aug. 24 to discuss a proposal to change the shape of County Council’s districts and the need for change.
The hearings will be at 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. in the Dively Community Seminar Room of Cleveland State University’s Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs, 1717 Euclid Ave., in Cleveland.
The Cuyahoga County charter required the creation of the Council Districting Commission.
Its task is to ensure a uniform population in all 11 Council Districts using 2010 U.S. Census data. The lines now in use were drawn using 2000 population data.
The Commission has established a Web site with more information about the process, including a map of the proposed lines and demographic data.
