CLEVELAND – Cuyahoga County Executive Ed FitzGerald named Mark A. Parks, Jr., CPA as the Interim Treasurer for Cuyahoga County. Parks is replacing Richard Sensenbrenner, who is retiring at the end of this week and moving out of state. A posting for the permanent Treasurer position, which is nominated by the Executive and confirmed by County Council, is online at https://www.cuyahogacounty.us/.

Under the Cuyahoga County charter, the Cuyahoga County Treasurer is responsible for the same duties assigned by general law to be carried out by elected county treasurers. These duties include collection of local taxes, oversight of investments and participation on the Board of Revision.

Parks is a Certified Public Accountant and currently serves as Controller for the county. For the last 15 years, he has served in a variety of financial management roles in the public and non‐profit sectors and holds a Bachelors degree in Business Administration and Political Science, and a Masters in Business Administration.

Mark has continually shown his value to county government with his wide ranging experience and effective management in a variety of areas. His experience in financial management as well as his participation with the Finance and Administration Transition Work Group has been a major asset in the coordination of functions within the new Fiscal Office. He is one of our very best,” said Cuyahoga County Executive Ed FitzGerald.
