Cuyahoga County Announces More Than $138,000 in New Communications Equipment for Westshore Police Departments

CLEVELAND – Expanding his efforts to streamline and modernize public safety efforts, Cuyahoga County Executive Ed FitzGerald today announced that Westshore Police Departments will receive 54 new radios and chargers – totaling $138,329.10 in advanced equipment for first responders.

“Cuyahoga County’s first responders should always be able to use the best technology available in order to protect themselves and keep our communities safe,” said County Executive FitzGerald. “I am pleased to announce that Cuyahoga County is providing these critical resources for Westshore Police Departments, and I look forward to continuing to support the brave men and women who work in law enforcement today.”
The departments receiving new equipment include Bay Village Police Department, Fairview Park Police Department, North Olmsted Police Department, Rocky River Police Department and Westlake Police Department.

Cuyahoga County has supported previous expenditures of general and grant funds towards the establishment of the MARCS IP Project, 25 Radio System in Cuyahoga County, the City of Cleveland's implementation of an 800 MHz APCO Project 25 Digital Radio Communications system, and the purchase of end‐user 700/800MHz radio equipment.
