CLEVELAND – Cuyahoga County property owners should be cautious of unwanted mailed solicitations from Record Transfer Services of Westview, California. Numerous property owners have received the unwanted solicitations that read “RECORDED DEED NOTICE” stating that it recommends that all property owners have a copy of their current grant deed and property assessment profile, and for a processing fee of $83, Record Transfer Services will obtain a copy of these documents on behalf of the property owner.

Property owners should have received a certified copy of the current grant deed as well as the appraisal report shortly after the purchase of their property. Copies of the current grant deed and property assessment profile are available through the Cuyahoga County Fiscal Department, Transfer & Recording. The fee for a copy of a recorded document is $2.00 per page, and an additional $1.00 for it to be certified.

For additional questions regarding unwanted solicitations, property tax bills, to schedule a free consumer education speaker, or to file a consumer complaint, please call (216) 443-7010.
