Those areas included: Investigations, Field Operations, Records, Planning and Research, Personnel, Neighborhood Crime Prevention, Homeland Security and Internal Affairs. After retiring from the Toledo Police Department, Taylor became Assistant Chief at the Westerville Division of Police, where he commanded the Administrative Service Section and a multi-jurisdiction tactical unit.

Taylor also has more than three and a half years’ experience within the corrections system. Taylor served as a Correction Officer in Lucas County where he worked on the medical floor, with a focus on mental health. He also worked sentence penitentiary and problem inmate floors as a Correction Officer. Taylor also worked as a counsellor on the female 1st offender floor.
