CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OH – Cuyahoga County Executive Armond Budish issued the following statement:

“All residents should have the opportunity for a productive career, and that means helping our residents obtain the training they need. In addition, our regional economy depends on having well qualified workers available to fill jobs for our businesses. Cuyahoga County works in partnership with the City of Cleveland to operate our countywide workforce development system, which is dedicated to meeting the talent needs of our businesses and the employment needs of our residents. The strength of our workforce development system lies in its strong network of partner organizations, helping job seekers to prepare for, find, and advance in their jobs. On the employer side, our partner organizations help businesses determine their hiring and training needs.

“We are pleased to have the opportunity to work together with Mayor Bibb and his administration to recruit the best possible leaders to fill the two top positions in our jointly operated workforce development system. With many challenges facing both businesses and job seekers this year, now is the time to give our combined support to this vitally important part of our regional economic development system.”

Cleveland Mayor Justin M. Bibb issued the following statement:

“We are executing a new vision for workforce strategy in the public sector. Our region can become a model for economic growth, but we need to work together to develop the workforce. This collaboration with Cuyahoga County allows us to engage and align resources with local initiatives and better connect job seekers to careers. We are both committed to finding the best and brightest individuals to join our administrations. These roles will be key in moving the vision and our region forward. The City of Cleveland looks forward to our continued partnership with Cuyahoga County Executive Budish and his team.”

Cleveland and Cuyahoga County are actively seeking qualified candidates for both positions.
