CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OH - The Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter (CCAS) will offer reduced adoption fees, from $30 to $50 per adoption, for the month of October to celebrate Adopt a Shelter Dog Month.

CCAS has partnered with Ken Ganley Subaru of Bedford and the ASPCA to celebrate both Adopt a Shelter Dog and Subaru Loves Pets Month with an event called, ‘Adoptober.’ Adopters will learn their adoption fee by playing a Halloween themed Plinko style game in which adoption prices range from $30 to $50. In addition, Ken Ganley Subaru of Bedford will donate $100 for every adoption in the month of October to CCAS’s Best Friends Medical Relief Fund.

Adoption fees are normally $95, and include spay/neuter, vaccines, 2022 dog license, microchip, and a current rabies tag.

“The shelter has maintained a high number of dogs in our care this year, so we have many wonderful pets still looking for new homes,” said Animal Shelter Administrator Mindy Naticchioni. “We are so excited to have partnered with Subaru and the ASPCA to encourage adoptions and really make October all about shelter dogs finding their way to a forever family.”

In addition, CCAS has gotten into the Halloween spirit with the Tricks for Treats campaign. Visitors can send or drop off dog treats for the pups at the shelter and they will be placed into trick or treat baskets on their cages, to go home with new adopters.

Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter is open to the public Friday and Saturday from 10:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. and Sunday from 12:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. Available pets can be viewed at https://www.cuyahogadogs.com/.
