CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OH – Cuyahoga County Executive Chris Ronayne announced today the nomination of Brad Cromes as the next County Treasurer. His appointment must be confirmed by Cuyahoga County Council.

“We are excited to nominate Brad Cromes as our candidate for County Treasurer. He has a proven track record of fiscal responsibility and a deep commitment to serving the community,” remarks County Executive Chris Ronayne. “His qualifications and dedication make him an ideal choice to lead our county’s Treasury Department.”

Cromes is a dedicated public servant with an innovative approach to financial management. For the past eight years, he has served as the Portage County Treasurer, where he modernized how taxpayers access resources and payment options and he partnered with local banks to create a low-cost home improvement loan program. Cromes also worked with community partners to develop a first-of-its-kind Financial Wellness Fair, which connected Portage County residents to experts in personal finance to address their individual needs.

“I have long admired Executive Ronayne's work to build community in Cuyahoga County and am honored to accept his nomination to serve as County Treasurer,” said Brad Cromes, nominee for Cuyahoga County Treasurer. “I look forward to helping him to deliver on his vision for a healthier future through innovative, transparent stewardship of this office."

Cromes received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Hiram College. He also earned a Master of Arts in Public Policy and Management and a Juris Doctorate from The Ohio State University.

Cromes’ accomplishments include recognition as a Certified Government Financial Manager from the Association of Government Accountants in 2016, becoming one of nearly 200 professionals working in the state with that designation. As a member of the County Treasurer’s Association of Ohio, Cromes serves as the organization’s 2nd Vice President, as Vice President of its Northeast Ohio region, and as a member of its Legislative Committee.

“We look forward to welcoming Brad Cromes to our leadership team and working together to ensure the continued success and financial stability of Cuyahoga County,” adds Executive Ronayne.

If confirmed, Cromes will replace Interim Treasurer Lisa Rocco who will return to her position as Director of Operations in the Cuyahoga County Fiscal Office.
