Climate innovators from around the United States to be recognized

CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OH – Cuyahoga County Executive Chris Ronayne and Cleveland Mayor Justin M. Bibb are excited to announce that the 2024 Climate Leadership Conference will be held in Cuyahoga County in the Spring of 2024. The Climate Leadership Conference allows climate change innovators the opportunity to collaborate on ideas to approach climate change through policy and industry adaptations, directly affecting the world around us.

“I am thrilled to welcome the 2024 Climate Leadership Conference and Awards Ceremony to Cleveland and Cuyahoga County this May,” said Cuyahoga County Executive Chris Ronayne. “Cuyahoga County has the workforce, infrastructure assets, research partners, and resources to provide solutions for sustainability and climate innovation. This Conference will bring together thought leaders from around the world to connect with local partners so that we can work together to address the challenges of climate change in our region and beyond.”

“The Climate Leadership Conference this spring will be an excellent opportunity for regional corporations, governments, non-profit organizations and individuals to join key conversations, workshops and events in collaboration with climate leaders from across the nation,” said Cleveland Mayor Justin M. Bibb. “We are excited to work with The Climate Registry to support the integration of climate justice and adaptation themes into the conference, and to welcome all to Cleveland and the North Coast.”

The Climate Leadership Conference and Awards was launched in 2011 to continue the legacy of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Climate Leaders program, which recognized companies for setting and achieving greenhouse gas reduction goals. The Climate Registry continues this effort of honoring our country’s climate leaders as lead presenter of the Climate Leadership Conference and Awards.

"The Climate Registry's annual Climate Leadership Conference represents an opportunity for us to create connections and drive impact in new cities and regions across the continent,” said Amy Holm, Executive Director, The Climate Registry. “We are thrilled to be partnering with Cuyahoga County’s County Executive, Christopher Ronayne, to bring next year’s CLC to Cleveland."

To date, over 185 companies, organizations, and individuals from diverse sectors across the U.S. have received a Climate Leadership Award for their exemplary leadership. Learn more about the Climate Registry.
