Multiple arrests, illicit drugs, firearms confiscated in takedown of criminal operation

CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OH – On Tuesday, the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Unit seized 25 pounds of suspected methamphetamine, multiple firearms, additional illegal narcotics, and arrested three individuals while executing search warrants that culminated a yearlong investigation into a drug trafficking enterprise. The investigation, which began with a citizen complaint about drug activity in March of 2024, led investigators to dismantle an organization that had been supplying illicit drugs to neighborhoods on the west side of Cleveland. Two search warrants were executed at residences in the 3200 block of West 131st Street, and on McGowan Avenue in Cleveland.

“This case is a testament to the dedication and persistence of our investigators who work tirelessly every day to get dangerous criminals off of our streets and keep illegal drugs out of our neighborhoods,” said Cuyahoga County Sheriff Harold A. Pretel. “There is no room in our community for this type of activity – we will remain vigilant and follow through on every lead to protect our residents.”

Throughout the course of the overall investigation, other operations have resulted in an additional arrest and the confiscation of additional illegal narcotics, criminal tools, and money tied to illegal drug sales. To date, the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Department reports the confiscation of 28lbs of methamphetamines, 2,443 grams of cocaine, 480 grams of fentanyl pills, 247 grams of heroin, $20,707 in U.S. currency, and 2 firearms in this case. Investigators will confer with the County Prosecutor’s Office, and suspects in this case may face felony charges including Drug Trafficking, Possession of Criminal Tools, and Having Weapons While Under Disability.

The Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Department is committed to serving the those who live in, work, and visit Cuyahoga County. In public safety, community cooperation is key to our success. If you see something, say something – it can make a difference.
