Cuyahoga County Fiscal Office Receives Distinguished Budget Presentation Award
Cuyahoga County, OH – Cuyahoga County is proud to announce that the Fiscal Office has received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award, the highest form of recognition in governmental budgeting. The award, presented by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA), recognizes the County for its annual comprehensive financial report and represents a significant achievement for the Fiscal Office.
“This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our talented Fiscal Team,” said Cuyahoga County Executive Chris Ronayne. “Their commitment to quality ensures our budget serves not only as a financial plan, but also as a tool to inform residents and enhance public trust and confidence.”
The GFOA established the Distinguished Budget Presentation Awards Program in 1984 to encourage and assist local governments to prepare budget documents of the highest quality that reflect both the guidelines established by the National Advisory Council on State and Local Budgeting and the GFOA’s best practices on budgeting. To earn recognition, budget documents must meet program criteria and excel as a policy document, financial plan, operations guide, and communications tool.
“Taxpayers deserve to know how their dollars are being allocated,” said Cuyahoga County Fiscal Officer, Michael Chambers. “This award is a reflection of the diligence and expertise of our finance and budget professionals, who work every day to ensure public funds are managed with transparency, accountability, and care.”
Receipt of the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award highlights the Fiscal Office’s commitment to excellent service and financial stewardship. Cuyahoga County remains dedicated to serving residents with the highest standards of accountability and transparency.
