Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Unit Takes Down Illegal Drug Trafficking Organization Leading to Multiple Arrests, Seizure of Cash, Narcotics

Posted on

CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OH - The Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Unit has completed a two month-long investigation resulting in the arrest of individuals responsible for trafficking large amounts of narcotics across the City of Cleveland and throughout Cuyahoga County. The leaders of this organization, Curtis Williams, aka Kurt Werk, 40, and Dayvoughn Ervin, aka Fatboo, 33, were taken into custody on August 1, 2026 on charges related to felony drug trafficking.

“I commend the Narcotics Unit investigators for their outstanding work on this case, which led to the takedown of a significant drug trafficking operation and the removal of individuals from our streets responsible for fueling the ongoing drug epidemic impacting neighborhoods across Cuyahoga County,” said Sheriff Harold A. Pretel. “Every major narcotics seizure and arrest makes our residents safer and disrupts the criminal networks that profit from poisoning our communities.”

Throughout the investigation, investigators identified and executed search warrants at multiple locations used by the organization to store and package narcotics, currency, and specialized equipment used to process and break down illegal drugs for street-level distribution. The search warrants resulted in the confiscation of large amounts of narcotics, cash, and equipment, and the recovery of a stolen firearm.

Total seizures throughout the operation include:

  • Over 2.3K grams of cocaine
  • Over 3.4K grams of fentanyl
  • Over 46 grams of crack cocaine
  • Approximately $11K in U.S. Currency
  • Equipment used to package and distribute narcotics

Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Investigators will present the facts of this case to the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office for charges including Violation of the State Drug Law, Drug Trafficking, Possession of Drugs, Possession of Criminal Tools, Receiving Stolen Property, and Having Weapons Under Disability.
