September 11, 2024

  • Pump station has been completed.
  • Zone restriction at Abbey Road Intersection contractor to finish concrete sidewalks on north side of Sprague Road.

August 1, 2024

  • Tri Mor has repaired roadway cracks and is currently waiting for directions for sanitary pump station before work can be finalized.

March 8, 2024

  • Sprague Road is open to two-way traffic.
  • The contractor, Trimor, has some items to complete and will be returning in April to finish the sanitary pump station at the corner of Abbey Road and Sprague Road.

January 30, 2024

  • Sprague Road is open to two-way traffic.
  • Sub-contractors are working in a zone on the eastern half of the project completing planner sewer lining between 1/22/24 through 2/9/24.
  • The contractor, Trimor, has some items to complete and will be returning in April to finish the sanitary pump station at the corner of Abbey Road and Sprague Road.

December 6, 2023

  • The general contractor is in the process of completing temporary stripping before the roadway can be open to traffic.
  • Currently waiting for clear weather to perform the work.
  • Plan for roadway to be open on December 12, 2023.
  • Roadway signage is complete.
  • Permanent striping will be completed in the spring when the weather allows.

November 22, 2023

  • The contractor is in the process of completing final safety items guard rail, stripping and signage in preparation to open Sprague Road to two-way traffic.
  • The new pump station located at the corner of Abbey Road and Sprague Road is not yet operational and will need work throughout winter to complete the project.
  • The contractor will return after winter to complete the sanitary main tie in near Abbey Road with the new pump station. This will require restriction of traffic from the planned three (3) lanes to two lanes as the contractor requires working space. This will most likely happen in March/April 2024.

October 2, 2023

  • Tri Mor has completed work on realignment of the Abbey Road intersection with Sprague Road.
  • The contractor has also completed the full width of Sprague Road widening apart from the road over Baldwin Creek Culvert and near the Sanitary Pump station located at the same location as Baldwin Creek.
  • Work is continuing on remaining drive aprons of all south side residents along with sidewalk on the North Royalton side of the road.
  • The project has progressed so that the contractor has had a landscaping company on site to install topsoil and grass seed in a portion of the project between Abbey Road and W. 130th Street.

August 22, 2023

  • Tri Mor is working on the widening of Sprague Rd., between York Rd., and W. 130th Street.
  • The contractor has worked throughout July and August to place concrete to full width of the new three lane Sprague Road.
  • Currently the contractor is completing the manhole and catch basin box outs on the south side of the road.
  • Once the box outs are completed the contractor will begin driveway/aprons.
  • Abbey Road is closed to north bound traffic at the job limits due to realignment of the Abbey Road intersection with Sprague Road.
  • The traveling public should find an alternate route while the Abbey Road intersection is being built.
  • The road is currently one lane set up for southbound traffic off Sprague Road.

July 17, 2023

  • The general contractor is working in the widening of Sprague Rd., between York Rd., and W. 130th Street.
  • The contractor has accelerated production to work of getting as much concrete roadway/drive aprons/sidewalk completed in the summer months. This will allow for adequate growth time in the fall when topsoil and grass seed is eventually planted.
  • Work on the new sanitary pump station at the corner of Abbey Rd., and Sprague Rd., is on partial delay due to utility poles plan to remove and replace for widening of the road.

 

May 22, 2023

  • The general contractor is installing a storm sewer along the North Royalton side of Sprague Rd.
  • Removal and replacing sanitary manholes that are also on the North Royalton side of the road.
  • While installing manholes, contractor is installing new sanitary laterals and clean out tees  to all planned houses on the Parma side between East Linden Lane and York Road.
  • The subcontractor is working on electrical work for installation and completion of a Cuyahoga County Pump station that will be located at the southeast corner of Abbey Rd., and Sprague Rd., intersection. This pump station will replace the existing pump station located just northwest of Abbey and Sprague Rd. intersection.
  • Upcoming work for this summer will include concrete pavement for the east bound lane and the middle turn lane. Including drive aprons and sidewalks throughout remainder of the project.

 

February 8, 2023

  • General contractor has restarted operations installing storm sewer and sanitary sewer along Sprague Road between York Road and West 130th Street.
  • Work will continue through winter weather permitting.

 

December 8, 2022

  • General contractor has paved concrete for most of the north side of Sprague Road, apart from 1000’ feet between approximately east Linden Lane and the  culvert over Baldwin Creek. This section was skipped due to sanitary sewer installation that is reliant upon new pump station at the corner of Abbey Road and Sprague Road.
  • This pump station is delayed completion due to the generator that is now scheduled to be delivered in January 2023. Driveway apron installation has also been completed for the paved section of new roadway.
  • Working into December the traffic will be switched from old asphalt to new concrete with a concrete transition at each end of new concrete.
  • Between E. Linden Lane and Baldwin Creek Culvert the traffic will be shift lanes from new concrete to the old asphalt back to new concrete.
  • Contractor will be taking a break beginning December 16th returning in January to prep location a pump station for generator installation. 

November 3, 2022

  • General contractor has begun placement of concrete for west bound lane between York Rd. and East Linden, Abbey Rd., and West 130th Street.
  • Once the main concrete placement is completed, the contractor will be hand pouring catch basins and installing under drain on the back of curb along with constructing new concrete aprons for Parma side houses.
  • Contractor will also be tying in all house connections to the new storm sewer this month.

 

October 3, 2022

  • Water main and house service connections are complete with exception of the major tie in at the York Road intersection. This will most likely require nighttime work and reconfiguring the traffic pattern for this intersection.
  • Tri-Mor has completed sanitary main and laterals from W. 130th Street to Abbey Avenue on the Parma side.
  • With the late arrival of the pump station generator the existing pump station must remain functional and Parma sanitary mainline cannot be completed between Abbey Ave., and East Linden Lane.
  • Tri-Mor is working on completing storm sewer mainline next week on the Parma side and will begin to tie in house lateral connections after mainline completion.
  • On October 10th contractor will begin removing pavement on the Parma side between Dairy Queen, edge of Sprague Road Part 1 existing pavement, and working east. Contractor is pushing to get 13.5’ of Parma side graded, stabilized and paved this year.

 

September 9, 2022

  • The general contractor has, has completed all waterline house connections and has installed majority part of the storm sewer through the project between York Rd. and West 130th Street.
  • Contractor will be working to further install storm sewer main line and sanitary mainline through the month of September.
  • Contractor anticipates to begin removing the north side of the old/existing pavement in October to begin preparations to install new concrete road surface this year.

 

June 3, 2022

  • The general contractor has completed installation of new “16 water main between W. 130th Street and York Road.
  • Continuing with connecting resident homes into the new water main by installing 1” copper connections and new curb stop valve boxed.
  • A section of storm sewer has recently been completed on the City of Parma side of Sprague Road between Baldwin Creek and W. 130th Street.
  • This storm sewer connects resident’s homes and side street to drain properly down Baldwin Creek.
  • Through the month of June, the contractor will continue connecting resident’s homes to the new water main.
  • The schedule is still planned for completion in December 2023, some potential delays are being addressed with the current supply chain for construction material.

 

March 2, 2022

  • Contractor Tri Mor is continuing working through winter with several weather delays causing pause in production.
  • Working on installing 16” water main between York Road and W. 130th Street per plan and will continue with waterline installation through the month of March.

 

December 10, 2021

  • Contractor has begun construction on Sprague Road, working between W. 130th Street and York Road.
  • Current traffic pattern for the construction zone is west bound traffic only traveling from York Road to W. 130th Street. A detour is set up for east bound traffic to travel on Pleasant Valley Road.
  • The north lane is currently closed for installation of new water main, while still open to side street traffic and resident drive aprons.
  • Contractor is expecting to work throughout the winter, weather permitting.
