Description of Board and Responsibilities:
The TIRC is an advisory body that reviews a Company’s performance of contractual items that are offered in exchange for a reduction of Real Property taxes. Items such as Real Property investment, Job Retention / Creation, and other like criteria, determine the length and percentage of exemption. A complete listing of the types of incentives reviewed can be found in ORC Section 5709.85. Once reviewed, the recommendations are then forwarded to the Municipality’s Council for action as to accept, alter, or amend the contract based on the TIRC’s findings. The TIRC is to meet annually.
