Northeast Ohio’s logistics, infrastructure, skilled workforce, corporate-friendly tax structure, and low cost of doing business are attracting the attention of international businesses as they seek to break into the U.S. market.

The region, which is home to more than 120 ethnic and cultural communities, is known for its ethnic diversity and has a strong international business presence, making Northeast Ohio an ideal place for international businesses.

There are 405 foreign-owned companies in Cuyahoga County from 32 countries. In 2014, the Brookings Institution ranked Greater Cleveland 34th out of 100 U.S. metro areas in number of jobs supplied by foreign-owned countries. Brookings found that foreign-owned companies tend to pay better and invest more heavily on product development than domestic-owned companies.
