The region, which is home to more than 120 ethnic and cultural communities, is known for its ethnic diversity and has a strong international business presence, making Northeast Ohio an ideal place for international businesses.
There are 405 foreign-owned companies in Cuyahoga County from 32 countries. In 2014, the Brookings Institution ranked Greater Cleveland 34th out of 100 U.S. metro areas in number of jobs supplied by foreign-owned countries. Brookings
found that foreign-owned companies tend to pay better and invest more heavily on product development than domestic-owned companies.
