Transforming Workplace Culture
Cuyahoga County supports sustainable and healthy employee commuting through initiatives led by the Departments of Human Resources, Public Works and Sustainability. Employees learn about commuter incentive programs during orientation sessions and through programming throughout the year.
Transit Incentives
- Cuyahoga County believes that commuting by public transit should be as convenient and accessible as driving to work. That’s why our Department of Human Resources offers subsidized transit passes through GCRTA's Commuter Advantage program to all Cuyahoga County employees.
- The Cuyahoga County Employee Wellness Program offers incentives for participants who participate in workplace commuter challenges or attend healthy community events like National Bike to Work Day, Bike with a Mayor events, and Ohio Loves Transit Week.
Transit-Supportive Workplaces
- Cuyahoga County is actively supporting cycling infrastructure in its buildings, including secure bike parking stations and on-site locker rooms for employees who choose to ride to work.
- Nearly all Cuyahoga County’s workplaces are situated less than a half-mile from a public transit station, and many are close to shared mobility hub locations.
Carpooling
- Cuyahoga County utilizes NOACA’s Gohio Commute platform, a ride-matching tool that helps employees form carpooling groups for more cost effective and sustainable commutes.
