Connected Cuyahoga

Connected Cuyahoga is the County’s people-first approach to transportation and mobility. Whether someone takes the bus, drives a car, uses a wheelchair, or rides a bicycle, our goal is simple:
Safe access for everyone to the region’s rich assets while prioritizing health throughout the transportation system.
Nearly 1 in 8 households in Cuyahoga County lacks access to a car. That means safe, reliable transportation isn’t a luxury—it’s a necessity. Tens of thousands of residents rely on walking, transit, bikes, or shared rides to get where they need to go. Our rate of zero-car households (12.1%) is significantly higher than Ohio (7.6%) and the U.S. (8.3%)1.
Connected Cuyahoga builds on and strengthens the County’s multimodal network to improve:
- Health
Promote walking, biking, and transit, reduce pollution, and support healthier communities through active transportation. - Safety
Proactively address road safety issues – especially in areas where crashes and injuries disproportionately impact vulnerable residents. - Access
Invest in connected areas, expand “last mile” options, and help people who don’t drive reach opportunity.
