Fighting Structural Racism

Mural on Building

The County passed legislation in July declaring racism as a public health crisis. This declaration expresses our intent to address the impact of structural racism in our community.

The Citizens’ Advisory Council on Equity and the Internal Equity Commission were developed to take a look at both external, community-wide factors and internal practices that may contribute to current inequities and provide recommendations to create a more equitable County.

As we do this ongoing work to fight structural racism, there are many ways you can participate and stay involved. We encourage you to check back for periodic updates on the work of CACE and the Equity Commission.

Citizens’ Advisory Council

The Council is made up of 17 community leaders who will offer key insights and recommendations to make the County a more diverse and equitable place.
