Dan Humphrey

Dan was born, raised, and educated in Garfield Heights. Besides running cross-country, he played on and captained the high school's national-caliber Quizbowl team, netting four state championships and two MVP awards. In 2008 Dan left for Princeton, where after four years of undergraduate work he emerged with a History B.A. with Honors, an unanticipated command of Chinese and German, and a hatred for New Jersey roads. Without intending it, his studies converged on political and economic reform and institutional developments in American business, culminating in a thesis on South Carolina's wildly-successful international business recruitment program. Dan hopes to continue to work in both the public and the private sectors to help restore Cleveland to its historical place as one of the foremost cities of business and civic activity in the United States.

Anand Kadambi

A resident of Richmond Heights, Anand is going into his second year of doctoral studies at Maxine Goodman Levin College at Cleveland State University. Prior to pursuing his current degree, Anand received his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Sociology from Case Western Reserve University and Masters Degree in Public Administration from the University of North Florida. Anand has been grateful for this opportunity to work for the County and to utilize the skills he learned while interning for his local City Hall and Congresswoman Marcia Fudge’s District 11 office.

Christopher Martin

After graduating from Shaker Heights High School in 2003, Christopher attended McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada where he completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and Western Religions in 2007. Christopher then hit the road, traveling to more than a dozen countries in Asia and Europe. The experience solidified his love of cities – from Phnom Penh to Copenhagen. With this new found passion within him, Christopher returned to the Cleveland area, settled in the Tremont neighborhood, and enrolled in a dual-degree program at Cleveland State University. In May, 2012, he completed, magna cum laude, a Master of Public Administration degree with a specialization in city management from the Maxine-Goodman College of Urban Affairs. He will complete a law degree from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in May, 2013.

Annie Morino

Annie Morino is a senior at Allegheny College double majoring in Political Science and Communications. She is from Strongsville, Ohio and graduated from Strongsville High School. After twelve years of Girl Scouts and accomplishing a Gold Award geared towards civic engagement, Annamarie continued her passion for service in college working as a service leader at the local YMCA. This spring, Annie attended the Washington Semester Program at American University and had the great opportunity to intern for Senator Sherrod Brown on Capitol Hill. Washington, DC was an incredible place, but returning to Cleveland, Annamarie has been happy to work in her hometown in a more hands-on way.

Nicholas Panos

Nicholas is a native of Cleveland, living in the Brooklyn Centre neighborhood. After graduating from St. Ignatius High School in 2007, he went on to Heidelberg University where he majored in political science with a minor in legal studies. While still an undergraduate, he helped with the City of Tiffin in creating a public survey. He has also fortunate to work with his professor in research concerning political conservatism which he presented at the Ohio Research Symposium. Currently, he is a graduate student of Cleveland State University in public administration with a concentration in city management. He feels honored to have been selected as the fellow who worked for CountyStat.

Jim Thomas

Jim Thomas is a third year law student at Case Western Reserve University. He is particularly interested in public policy and the sports industry. His past work experience includes a federal judicial externship, and an internship with former Congressman Boccieri. Prior to this, Jim was a professional tennis player for twelve years achieving a career high doubles ranking of twenty-nine in the world. He is a board member for Cleveland Inner City Tennis Clinics. Jim is a native of Canton, Ohio.

Jiarui Tu

Jiarui is currently enrolled in the Weatherhead School of Management, Case Western Reserve University, pursuing an MBA with an emphasis in HR. Prior to that, he received his Bachelor’s degree of Arts in English Language and Literature from Fujian Normal University in China and served as a human resource assistant at the China Post for one year. In additional, he also volunteers at Business Volunteer Unlimited in his spare time. Through this program, Jiarui hopes to bring creative and global insights to Cuyahoga County and gain additional business knowledge to help him adapt in the competitive world.

Sherry Tulk

Sherry Tulk, as a Fellow for Cuyahoga County worked for the County Executive office and Department of Public Works. She is a recent graduate of Cleveland State University (CSU) with a Master of Urban Planning Design & Development and concentration in economic development (May 2012). Her undergraduate degree is also from CSU, in Urban Studies. She is passionate about applying concepts learned from her studies, believes strongly in giving within her community, and is committed to being an agent of change and positive impact.

Abigail Whisler

Abigail graduated Jackson High School in Massillon, Ohio, in 2010. Years of high school speech and debate sparked her interest in public policy and allowed her to earn the National Forensic League’s Degree of Outstanding Distinction. She was also an active member of National Honor Society. Abigail is a National AP Scholar, Academic All American, and National Merit Scholar. She is currently attending Case Western Reserve University, majoring in Political Science and Economics and minoring in Public Policy and Business Management. She recently finished a major research project examining the impact of access to information on democracy. Abigail has finished her second year of study and will graduate at the end of the Fall 2012 semester.

Alexander Zempolich

Alexander moved to Shaker Heights in 2008 after spending his formative years in The Hague, Netherlands. He graduated Cum Laude from Hawken School in 2010 and is now pursuing a B.A. in Economics from the University of Chicago. Alex works as a research assistant at the Booth School of Business.
