The Crime Stoppers Program encourages members of the community to assist local law enforcement in the fight against crime by overcoming FEAR and APATHY, the two key elements that inhibit community involvement.It relies on volunteer directors and tax-deductible contributions from the public in order to operate the administration of the program.

There are cash rewards up to $5,000.00. Callers can remain anonymous and are eligible to receive a cash reward if their information leads to an arrest or grand jury indictment of a felony offender.

• Drop boxes provides a safe, environmentally friendly way for citizens to dispose of their unwanted or unused prescription drugs.
• Unused prescription drugs are typically the gateway to heroin abuse, as over 70% of Americans misusing painkillers obtain them from friends or relatives.
• The CCSD has provided over 42 municipalities across Cuyahoga County with Drug Drop Boxes.

• Explorer Post 701 is a group of young men and women in high school and college (ages 14 to adult) interested in the field of law enforcement. Areas of interest include Sheriff, Deputy Sheriff, Corrections Officer, Scientific Investigator and Dispatcher.
• The program is administered by off-duty Sheriff's Office personnel. The program is sanctioned, insured, and follows the guidelines and rules set forth by the Boy Scouts of America Exploring Division.
• Meetings are every Thursday night from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

• The Sheriff's Office conducts an annual recruitment program. An Open House is scheduled in October where interviews are conducted. A student must sign up by November 15th of each year.
