The Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services (ADAMHS) Board of Cuyahoga County is responsible for the planning, funding and monitoring of public mental health and alcohol and other drug addiction services delivered to the residents of Cuyahoga County.

Administrative Rules Board (ARB)

The Cuyahoga County Administrative Procedures Act establishes the Administrative Rules Board (ARB) in Section 205.09 of the County Code. The Act governs how County entities may adopt, amend, or rescind administrative policies, rules and regulations in Chapter 113 of the County Code. The ARB meets on a bi-weekly basis. All meetings are open to the public.

Adult Protective Services

The intent of the adult protective services is to protect and assist adults 60+ who may be victims of abuse, neglect, self-neglect and/or financial exploitation.

Animal Shelter (Dog warden)

Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter is a temporary home for dogs that are found on the streets by the county dog wardens. Dogs are held for 72 hours in order for the owner to claim them. After the holding period, unclaimed dogs may be available for adoption.

Archives Services

The Cuyahoga County Archives was organized in the summer of 1975 and serves as a repository for the historical records of Cuyahoga County, and for current records requiring temporary maintenance.

Audit Committee

This committee provides internal auditing to assist the County Executive, Fiscal Officer, the County Council and other county officers and departments funded in whole or in part by County funds. The goal of the Audit Committee is to provide efficient and effective services to County residents. The Audit Committee provides direction and guidance to the County's Department of Internal Auditing, including establishing and amending relevant rules and operations.

The Ohio Court of Appeals is an intermediate level appellate court whose primary function is to hear appeals from the common pleas, municipal and county courts.

Internal Audit

The Department of Internal Audit, established under Cuyahoga County Charter Article XI, serves under the direction of, and performs such functions on behalf of, the County Audit Committee as the Committee shall prescribe. The mission of the DIA is to assist members of Cuyahoga County by bringing an independent, objective, and systematic approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, internal control, and governance processes resulting in improved operations for the County. The DIA aims to help the County accomplish its objectives, identify operational improvement, and reduce risk exposure.
