The Department of Internal Auditing, established under Cuyahoga County Charter Article XI, serves under the direction of, and performs such functions on behalf of, the County Audit Committee as the Committee shall prescribe. The mission of the DIA is to assist members of Cuyahoga County by bringing an independent, objective, and systematic approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, internal control, and governance processes resulting in improved operations for the County. The DIA aims to help the County accomplish its objectives, identify operational improvement, and reduce risk exposure.
